National harmony in Vietnamese Music foundation.
Talking about Vietnamese music, it must be talked both national harmony character. Each nation has each distinct harmony character sush as Chinese harmony, Indian harmony, Arabian harmony, Western classic harmony, modern harmony, etc. As the result it is not Vietnamese music without national harmony of Vietnamese.
Thus what’s National harmony in Vietnamese Music foundation? It is specific tones which are originated from Vietnamese voice when rose and fell. With the same singing voice, the modulation in Western style is the sole standard but diversified in Vietnamese style and depends on the state of mind, the situation and the feeling of the artiste to express. For example, the quick modulation describes the happiness; the slow modulation describes the sorrow, the flex describes the solemnness; the switched expresses the plaintiveness. And the drop is the special modulation of Tru song, etc….
National harmony in Vietnamese Music foundation is very diversified and precise. In the same line of song and music, it is expressed in many ways whenn deposed the stipuled ligature accents. Thus it is extra necessary & exigent for special symbols to be added to musical notation for Vietnamese songs. Nowadays, composers creating songs bases on Western musical notation can not express Vietnamese national harmony. Instrumentalists, artistes desiring to present some musical works in Vietnamese national harmony is mainly depend on learing by word of mouth. Therebefore we used to find that many instrumentalists and artistes presented Vietnamese songs as if foreigners spoke Vietnamese language. Actually, it is not the fault of performer as well as composers except for authorities concerned, Institute of Vietnamese song up to now for many years has not brought additional Vietnamese symbol systematically to express National harmony in Vietnamese Music foundation. So in this forum, I would like to present the special notations to supplement musical notation method nowadays. I am willing to mount the rostrum and deliver a speech in front of research authorities, composers and public to show my research work with purpose for your advise and perfection to make the nation music more and more strong in national character.
